The Museum currently publishes 8 peer-reviewed series: Mémoires du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Patrimoines naturels, Archives, Des planches et des mots, Stratotypes (Patrimoine géologique), Natures en sociétés, Faune et flore tropicales co-published with the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement since January 2020 and Inventaires et biodiversité co-published with Biotope since 2011. These collections publish original research results in the Museum's fields of expertise. The Museum also publishes special editions, often in collaboration with other publishers, private or public.
