Comptes Rendus Palevol is a fully electronic and peer-reviewed journal, with a continuous publication stream, devoted to palaeontology, prehistory and evolutionary sciences. It publishes original research results, in French or English, in the following domains: systematic and human palaeontology, prehistory, evolutionary biology and macroevolution, and history of sciences. Thematic issues may also be published under the responsibility of a guest editor. All articles published in Comptes Rendus Palevol are compliant with the different nomenclatural codes. In 2020, a partnership agreement is reached between the Académie des sciences and the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle, for coediting Comptes Rendus Palevol. |
Comptes Rendus Palevol is available in diamond open access, free of charges for both the author and the reader and accessible here as soon as published. Articles published in Compte Rendus Palevol are archived in Zenodo.

The Comptes Rendus de l'Académie des sciences – Palevol were founded in 2002. Articles published from 2002 to 2018 are available online in open access. In 2002, the Comptes Rendus Palevol followed on from the Comptes Rendus de l'Académie des sciences – Series IIA – Earth and Planetary Science.
Archives of the Comptes Rendus de l'Académie des sciences are available on the website of the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
