Pluteus sandalioticus, has been collected in the province of Seville (Spain). This is the first mention of this taxon outside its type-localities in Sardinia (Italy). Due to the absence of type-material the iberian collection is here designated as neotypus. The mediterranean distribution of this species is confirmed.
