
A taxonomic revision of the species of the genus Dimelaena in the Iberian Peninsula is presented. The morphology, anatomy, ascospore ontogeny, chemistry, ecology and distribution of the two recognized species, Dimelaena oreina and Dimelaena radiata, are discussed and several new data are afforded. Buellia tesserata, a closely related species to Dimelaena radiata, is also included for comparison. Distribution maps, a original illustration and a diagnostic key to the species treated and their chemotypes are also provided.
