Two new species of Rhododendron L. section Siphonovireya (Sleumer) Argent (Ericaceae), recently discovered in New Guinea, are described and illustrated. Rhododendron kogo Danet, sp. nov. is close to R. agathodaemonis J.J.Sm. but is distinct by having subsessile, chartaceous leaves with raised reticulation on both faces and by having caudate bracts. Rhododendron dutartrei Danet, sp. nov. is close to R. incommodum Sleumer, differing by its straight corolla with suborbicular lobes and by its pedicel that is two to three times longer.
