After a brief appraisal of the identity of the genus Acropogon Schltr. (Malvaceae, Sterculieae) endemic to New Caledonia, four new species of this genus, growing on different substrates (ultramafic, limestone or schist), are described and illustrated from their morphological characters. Their ecogeographic features are presented along with a conservation assessment of each species according to IUCN Red List criteria.
