Fourteen species of the genus Umbilicaria are presented based on recent collections from the Bolivian Andes. Of these, two species are reported for the first time from South America (U. indica, U. freyi) and five species are new to Bolivia (U. freyi, U. hirsuta, U. indica, U. soralifera, U. subcalvescens). Altogether, 18 species are currently known from Bolivia. Additionally variety U. decussata var. rhizinatha is recorded here from its second and third localities worldwide as new to Africa and South America. The taxonomy, morphology and distribution of each species are briefly discussed. The tables summarizing morphological differences among the species of the genus reported from Bolivia so far are provided.
