An index of published names of liverworts and hornworts between 2006 and 2008 is provided as part of a continued effort in working toward producing a preliminary world checklist of these plants. Included in the list are those names overlooked by earlier indices. The list includes over 20 higher taxa, 246 species or infraspecific valid names, and three fossils.
