Review of the endemic Malagasy genus Paralygdamia Saussure & Zehntner, 1895 (Dictyoptera, Mantodea, Tarachodidae).

The endemic malagasy genus Paralygdamia Saussure & Zehntner, 1895, considered up to a recent date as monospecific with its type species Paralygdamia madecassa Saussure & Zehntner, 1895, is revised with more than 200 specimens. A new synonymy is established, that of Galepsus conspersus Sjöstedt, 1930, with P. madecassa; two species, formerly described in other genera are added: Paralygdamia madagascariensis (Audinet-Serville), 1838) n. comb., with designation of a neotype, and P. sikorai (Beier, 1931) n. comb.; finally seven species are described as new: Paralygdamia gigliotosi n. sp., P. nosyensis n. sp., P. grandidieri n. sp., P. fisheri n. sp., P. wintreberti n. sp., P. ifatyensis n. sp. and P. punctata n. sp. Identification keys are given in French and in English for all the species.
