A new species of monogenean Protoancyladiscoides katii n. sp., recovered from the gills of Malapterurus electricus (Gmelin, 1789) (Siluriforme, Malapteruridae) from Ivory Coast, is described. This species can be distinguished from other species of the genus by the size of sclerotised part of the haptor: dorsal gripus, dorsal and ventral bar, uncinuli I and IV and the structure of the accessory piece of the genitalia.
