An upper molar of an Ailurinae is described from the middle Miocene of Four, a locality near La Grive-Saint-Alban (Isère, France). This new miocene tooth is different from Magerictis imperialensis Ginsburg, Morales, Soria & Herraez, 1997 from the middle Miocene of Madrid (Spain). Its overall quadrangular shape evokes that of the Recent Panda Ailurus fulgens, and differs from it by its relatively low height and by the fact that both para- and mesostyle are moderately developed.
