New amber inclusions of the Eocene Jungermannites contortus Göpp.& Berendt with unfertilized gynoecia, mature perianth and sporophyte bearing an opened capsule are described and figured. They require its attribution to Mastigolejeunea (Spruce) Schiffn. as M. contorta (Göpp. & Berendt) Gradst. & Grolle, comb. nov. (= Lejeunea alifera Casp., syn. nov.). Eocene
