Representation of animals on stamps of amphora

The attributes figured on stamps present in Thasos a greater diversity than in other cities. How is this diversity to be interpreted? Animals are rarely symbolic but display sometimes the own taste of the engraver who chose the images: quadrupeds, birds, insects, fishes and some monsters. But diversity does not prevent from having sometimes a simplistic drawing. We can however find some birds' representations which are some way better.
