A second species of the brown algal genus Jolyna Guimarães (Scytosiphonales, Phaeophyceae), J. furcata, is recognized based on several collections made from Dhofar, the Sultanate of Oman. The new species is distinguished from the type species, J. laminarioides, by its thinner, more narrow, smaller, and often furcate thalli, anatomical differences, and its occurrence in more protected habitats.
