Twenty-two Cyanophyceae, 77 Phaeophyceae, one Chrysophyceae, 95 Rhodophyceae, seven Xanthophyceae, one Charophyceae, 66 Ulvophyceae are included. Of these, 26 are new records for Iceland. Relevant systematic and taxonomic problems are discussed in notes.
