Diatoms from the Colombian Amazonia

As part of an ongoing study of the diatom flora of the Colombian Amazonia, we discuss here 21 taxa that are recorded for the first time in Colombia and one in the Colombian Amazon. Each taxon, studied with light and/or electron microscopy, is described and illustrated. The taxonomic portion is supplemented with distributional information and ecological requirements.
