Index faunistique de Guyane française

This Wildlife Index of French Guyana is a register of all valid names for all vertebrates currently living in French Guyana: fish, amphibians, reptiles (lizards, snakes, tortoises and turtles), birds and mammals. It is organized in alphabetical order within the major groups. It lists 1 652 species in 907 genera, belonging to 220 families. This index is a taxonomic database also used in Guyana's ZNIEFF (Natural Area of Ecological and Wildlife Interest) software. It can also be used as a reference for other zoological databases on Guyana. A short bibliography is included. Most zoologists with an expertise in Guyana's fauna were involved in this work which should be the reference book for those involved in wildlife mangement.
