Russula lentiginosa spec. nov. from West Virginia, USA: a probable link between tropical and temperate Russula-groups

Russula lentiginosa nov. sp. is described from West Virginia, USA, as a close relative to the European R. viscida and the American R. ballouii and related species, which should all be placed in the same subsection. The authors suggest that this group is a probable link between temperate Russulae and the predominantly tropical section Fistulosae.
