Contribution to the study of Orchidaceae from Madagascar, the Comoro and Mascarene islands. XXXIV. Bathiorchis, a new monotypic genus from Madagascar.

A new monotypic genus of Orchidaceae: Physureae from Madagascar is described. Originally placed with doubt by Perrier de la Bâthie in the genus Gymnochilus Blume, the species is close to Platylepis A. Rich. but possesses a column that is morphologically very different.
