List of bird types in the collections of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle in Paris. 12 : Falcons and Cacacaras (Falconidae)

The types of 19 Falconid taxa are reviewed and commented. The lectotype of Falco gracilis Lesson, 1830 was designated by Des Murs (1849). The MNHN also possesses the holotypes by monotypy of the following taxa: Cerchneis araea Oberholser, 1917, Daptrius ater Vieillot, 1816, Sparvius gilvicollis Vieillot, 1817, Sparvius ruficollis Vieillot, 1817, Nisus concentricus Illiger in Lesson, 1830, Falco gironnierii Eydoux & Souleyet, 1841, Falco deiroleucus Temminck in Temminck & Laugier, 1825, Falco ardosiaceus Vieillot, 1823 and Tinnunculus moluccensis Bonaparte, 1850; one holotype by original designation, Neohierax insignis beaulieui Delacour & Jabouille, 1930; as well as the syntypes of the following taxa: Falco aterrimus Temminck in Temmick & Laugier, 1821, Circaetus antarcticus Lesson, 1830, Phalcoboenus montanus d'Orbigny, 1835, Falco leucauchen Temminck in Temminck & Laugier, 1824, Falco (Poliohierax) [sic] harmandi Oustalet, 1876, Microhierax chinensis David in Oustalet, 1875, Falco punctatus Cuvier in Temminck & Laugier, 1821 and Falco femoralis Temminck in Temminck & Laugier, 1822.
