Liste des types d'oiseaux des collections du Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle (France) 5. Procellariiformes (avec une note sur les catalogues du Laboratoire des Mammifères et Oiseaux)

After a brief description of the catalogues used, or still in use, at the Laboratoire de Zoologie, Mammifères et Oiseaux of the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, Paris, the types of twenty-three Procellariiform taxa held in the collections of this institution are critically reviewed. Lectotypes and paralectotypes are designed for Pterodroma rostrata Trouessarti Brasil, 1917, Procellaria turtur Kuhl, 1820, Puffinus chlororhynchus Lesson, 1838 and Puffinuria Garnotii Lesson, 1828. Procellaria obscura Kuhl, 1820 nec Gmelin, 1789, is synonymized with Puffinus lherminieri Lesson, 1839. Two specimens wrongly considered as types are also examined.
