Note about animals used for hunting by the Tangs

Murals painting excavated in three imperial tombs dating from the Tang dynasty (618-907), in China (Shaanxi province), give us informations about some animals used by the hunters. This paper examines the role of the following auxiliary animals: horse, dog, bird of prey, feline and camel, and tries to understand what kind of hunting techniques are used.
