The rare alga Arnoldiella conchophila V. Miller has been recorded from India. It was found growing vigorously on snail shells (Pila globosa Swainson) in the Kangsabati, a small river in the Purulia district of West Bengal, India. The thallus morphology was investigated using light microscopy and compared with the known records for this species.
