Plectranthus rosulatus Hedge, a distinct new species from northeast Madagascar, is described and illustrated. It differs from all other Malagasy species of this large genus in the rosulate habit, the thick-textured oblongspathulate leaves and the terminal scape-like inflorescence. It grows in moss cushions in rain forest, west of Sambava.
